visiting tobucil (toko buku kecil) was one of my highlight from last trip to bandung. i’ve heard about this place a long time ago but never really had chance to drop by. |
the place was literally small, almost invisible from the road. inside, there were old books in shelves but the one that interested me the most was the craft corner! i found treasures: origami papers with pattern and some flowery fabrics cut in small pieces.
| i also got an awesome necklace. but since i’m not a necklace person, i put it on my bag. |

ps: the stripes bag was from katallog. i still don’t know what i will use it for. i just like the stripes’ color.

i spent a few days of my christmas-new year vacation in bandung, the city where i grew up. and hubby spent a big chunk of his life there, so for us it was like going home.
we stayed at hotel concordia in bumi sangkuriang. again, it was my childhood’s place. i spent a lot of my times there when i was a kid. and most of the things still stay the same: the dutch colonial building, the circular swimming pool and the big lawn. the surround area also changed only a little.
bandung was raining most of the time. getting used to jakarta’s atmosphere, bandung felt soooo cold. the traffic jam inside the city was awful. but it still felt good to be back to bandung again.

the trip to manado - bunaken was my first touch with sulawesi land. getting used to short trips to singapore, manado felt so far. on the way to get there, we stopped by at makassar airport. a new look like suvarnabhumi airport.
arriving in manado, i was so excited hearing people speaking in different accent. we got around the city and tondano lake on the first 2 days then we spent the next 2 last days near bunaken. we were full with all the delicious seafood.
some photos from the trip.

after 1 year and 4 months, yesterday was (probably) my last trip to singapore for this project.
the meeting finished early. i still had a few hours before going
home, so decided to visit singapore’s latest shopping mall, ion on orchard road.
the building was spectacular. i walked inside then i was
dissapointed. inside of the building was so plain. shopping malls in
jakarta such as pacific place, senayan city or grand indonesia are more amazing. but ion has sephora, i went there to buy some burt’s bee products.

a friend of mine collects in flight magazines. he told me to get him
the magazines anytime i get on a plane. since i have this back and
forth trip to singapore for more than a year, i became a good friend
with singapore airlines.
i haven’t seen the guy for a while so i just kept the magazines,
then i just realized, i wasn’t discipline enough taking the magazines.
some months are missing.
i gave him those magazines last week.

last week, i visited pulau edam (also known as pulau damar besar), located in kepulauan seribu, north of jakarta.
the island has an old lighthouse, built in 1879 during the dutch
colonial era. the lighthouse was made of cast iron and about 56 meter
height (16 floors). it looked so old, with broken parts here and
there.
i climbed up until the top floor and witnessed the magnificent view from up there.

after 2 months, i was back to singapore yesterday. i thought after the bomb
attack, the security in the airport would be stricter, but it was
normal, nothing was improved.
actually i supposed to be in singapore last week but all flight
tickets to singapore were sold out. was it because of school holiday?
was it because of long weekend?
it was raining the morning i arrived in singapore. and when i was back to jakarta at nite, it was raining too.

would like to travel somewhere.
but not to singapore…

After nine hours, seven time zones, two airline meals and no sleep I find myself in the same country; standing on the tarmac at Vladivostok airport.

i had a bad experience visiting prambanan temple last year. we stayed too long inside the temple complex and didn’t realize it was already beyond the closing time. the gate was locked and worse, it was raining cats and dogs. finally we could get out by climbing the fence!
last week’s visit to prambanan was a normal one. the place was packed with more tourists compare to last year, so i can take more candid
.

fate brought me back to jogja and solo. i was there last year and didn’t have any intention to come again so soon. some people need to do some serious shopping and i think it would be fun to join them.
here is the first batch of the photos at kampung laweyan in solo.

i have too many excuses lately to skip my weekly singapore trip, so it’s not weekly trip anymore. but today, i’m in singapore.
even it’s always tired to have all the travelings and the works, i think i’m glad to be back. glad to see the progress of the project even it has so many problems.
