caramel is probably the first lebanese movie i’ve seen all my life.
lollipop
apart from the news about war, i rarely know anything about lebanon.
lollipop
the movie is about 4 girls, working in beauty salon, each with their own problem in life.
lollipop
nadine labaki, one of the girl in the movie, is the director of the movie
lollipop
caramel is lebanese’s oscar submission in 2008 (indonesia submitted denias).
lollipop
i didn’t know that lebanon was under french, so the use many french words in their arabic conversation
lollipop
caramel is the ingredient used for waxing, but the waxing method
here is a bit different than the one that i know, they don’t used any
fabric to pull the caramel from the skin.
lollipop
when i typed this post, i kept writing libya instead of lebanon yeak

reading more and more books from alexander mccall smith makes me familiar with botswana, the country that i used to rarely hear about:

botswana it’s a landlock country in the south of africa
botswana the world’s third richest diamond-bearing formations found here
botswana the capital is gaborone
botswana 70% of the land is covered by kalahari dessert
botswana it was a british protectorate
