| on idul adha day last year, i was in vietnam. this year i stayed at home with my family. i cooked the killer capcay. this is the second time i made the capcay. the first time was successfully delicious, so i had confindence to present it |
![]() |
but this time the capcay was just ok. not as yummy as my first attempt. but since there was no other food, they ate it anyway…
recipe of the capcay is from here.

i did it again.
i bought too many strawberries. there’s no way i can finish them all by myself. so today, i mixed them with nutrijell and brought them to the office.
i hope people will like them.
last book i read: oeroeg- hella s. hasse *just realized i saw the movie a few years ago*
last movie i saw: inglorious basterds
last sms i received: about a cancellation of a meeting
last photo i took: a bowl of japanese lunch from last weekend

| after a long proscination, i finally made the magnolia pudding last weekend. | ![]() |
i replaced the banana with mango. i don’t eat banana. some of the ingredients were bought from my last visit to singapore.
i couldn’t find heavy cream anywhere. but after some googlings, i found that heavy cream can be replace with whipping cream. and it’s better because whipping cream has less fat.
my pudding didn’t come out that as i expected. a bit too liquid. but after i put it in the freezer, it got better.
i made kastengel
far before lebaran because someone was craving of it. it has been a
long time since i made kastengel and since i’m such a lazy bum, i
looked for the simplest recipe. it’s so simple that i don’t have to run
to the nearest supermarket because all the ingredient can be found at
home.
i hate the boring ordinary bar shape kastengel, so i created the flowery ones. it cheered me up! ![]()

| last week, i bought 2 boxes of strawberry without knowing what to do with them. but since i was still in the mood of muffin, i browsed around and found this inspiring recipe for strawberry muffin. |

strawberry is one of my favorite fruit. it used to be hard to find here, but now, a lot of villages have their own strawberry field where you can pick, weight, and pay. i still have some left over strawberries. i’ll eat them with yoghurt. |

i’ve been crazy making muffins lately. it’s fun, easy to make and delicious
. i tried several recipes of muffin but the most helpful ones are the ones from vania’s blog.
and muffins look awesome in photos. i can play with the colorful papercups, the topping and the composition of them.
i will keep making more muffins.
| i don’t spend a lot of time in front of tv and only a few program can glue me to my sofa. last night, when flipping through the channels, i stopped at spain… on the road again in asian food channel. | ![]() |
in the episode that i watched, gwyneth paltrow and 2 other people, exploring the andalusia region in the southern spain. they visited interesting places and of course they tasted the food.
i didn’t expect gwyneth paltrow to speak spanish. but she did. and it makes me adore her.
| Donuts . Is there anything they can’t do?

smiling oranges
![]()
found the left over oranges just before i left to the office yesterday. i drew smiling face on them but i couldn’t find my waterproof pen. i got only my drawing pen. the result, their faces are blurry.
i ate them after.

i watch more and more asian food channel.
last nite, i saw food jammers, the epidose where the guys went on camping in the woods and made ice cream with ingredient they got from the woods and the farms nearby. they put the ingredient in a can then started kicking the can for a good 2 hours. it looked fun *and tiring* and when they opened the can, voila…. they got a real ice cream!

this is what happened last weekend. this video made me drove to the nearest supermarket, bought the ingredient, and baked macaroni and cheese. or maybe i should say fusilli and cheese. i didn’t use macaroni as pasta since i like the shape of fusilli better.
it was ok. not really good but it wasn’t bad either. |
since i’m a big fan of simple recipe. i think i will try this one.
